Brewed with lager yeast; very little yeast-driven aroma

!!! GERMAN ‘‘Oktoberfestbier (Festbier/Wiesn)’’ labelling term is more commonly used for beer similar to Munich helles but slightly stronger and fuller-bodied, golden in colour
Strong lagers
Lager yeast - malt driven style
elevated alcohol levels, fuller body, concentrated malt character (from high original extract)
- Helles Bock (Maibock)
- Dunkles bock (bock)
- Dopplebock (suffix ‘ator’ from Salvator to indicate this style)
Smoked lagers

Bamberg brewery in Bavaria, Germany
wood smoke aromas reminiscent of smoked bacon/cheese
- Rauchbier marzen
Rauchbier can be attached to range of other classic German beer styles when brewed with smoked malts.

Brewed with ALE yeast; may contribute additional fruity aromas
- Straw or gold coloured ales
- Amber, copper or brown coloured ales
- Brown or Black coloured ales
- Strong ales
