- they are strong connective tissue that connects muscle to bone

A
- muscle can only contract for pull
- muscles work in pairs therefore they pull in opposite direction to each other

- extensors: muscles which extend a joint
- flexors: muscles that bend or flex a joint

what is the structure of muscle fiber
A
- the muscle is made up of many muscle fibers
- a single muscle fiber has many nucleus around it
- muscle fiber consists of many myofibrils
- inside the muscle fiber: myofibrils surrounded with sarcolemma ( cell surface membrane), the sarcolemma has many deep tube that are called T-tubules which are close to sarcoplasmic reticulum(endoplasmic reticulum) and the myofibrils with mitochondria are in the sarcoplasm (cytoplasm)

- they are made up of two types of protein filaments:
- thick filaments made up of myosin - thin filaments made up of actin which creates bands
