Prior to what speed must A/Ts be engaged on takeoff and what happens if not
-50 knots
-can’t engage until 400’
Once LOC and G/S are captured, how can the be disengaged

-A/P and FDs OFF
-engaging go-around mode
-above 1500RA, hit APP
3 ways to disengage autopilot
1- normal - disconnect switch
2- A/P disengage bar on MCP
3- overriding with controls (pedals only for Land 2 or 3)
What are the indications the autopilot is in a degraded mode
1) EICAS Amber AUTOPLIOT
2) line through degraded mode of PFD and HUD
3) respective FD bar removed from PFD and flight guidance cue removed from HUD
When does FLARE engage during AUTOLAND
Descent between 60’ and 40’ RA
During a manual landing when does the Autothrottle reduce to idle
-25’RA
—if FD is OFF, or
—pitch mode is G/S, V/S, FPA or VNAV (Spd/pth/Alt)
NO auto retard for pitch mode TOGA or FLCH
With autothrottle armed, auto activation activates if
-no autopilot or F/D is active
-you get slow for 1 sec. A/P or F/D is in mode and speed drops below FMC value for 1 sec
-thrust is low. Thrust below ref and above 100RA on appr or baro is 400’ AFE on takeoff
