Ecological Footprint
Impact on the environment.

- Completely human events.
^ Impact of pollution
Caused 16 percent of deaths worldwide. Pollution strains the economies of countries by increasing health care costs and causing people to miss school and work because they are ill or taking care of someone who is.
^ Efforts to control pollution
The solution was to force every company to reduce emissions. Clean Air Act 1970.
Climate change
Rise in temperature contributed to more frequent and more destructive wildfires, hurricanes, floods, and droughts.
Ecotourism
Travel to a region by people who are interested in its distinctive and unusual ecosystem.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Intended to finish the job that the MDGs had begun, but with more awareness of environmental challenges and ways to overcome them.
^ Argentina and South Korea - changing economies
Argentina suffered periods of massive inflation, military dictatorships, and heavy foreign debt. The economy collapsed in the 1990s form which the country is still trying to recover.
Korea has been a success story of modern economic development. Its levels of health, wealth, and education rank it as a core state, with about 2 percent of its population involved in primary activities and about 40 percent in secondary activities.
