ENGINE FIRE or Severe Damage or Separation

A

Autothrottle…Disengage
Thrust lever (affected engine)…Confirm…Close
Engine start lever (affected engine)…Confirm…CUTOFF
Engine fire switch (affected engine)…Confirm…Pull

IF engine fire switch or ENG OVERHEAT light stays illuminated:
Engine fire switch….Rotate to the stop and hold for 1 second

   IF after 30 seconds either light still illuminated...fire switch to other stop for 1 second

A

APU fire switch…..confirm…..Pull, rotate to the stop, hold for 1 second.

Engine Limit or Surge or Stall

A

Autothrottle …… Disengage

Thrust lever (affected engine)…confirm…retard until indications in limits or thrust lever is closed

Loss of Thrust on Both Engines

A

Engine Start switches (both)…FLT
Engine Start levers (both)…CUTOFF
WHEN EGT decreases…Engine start levers (both) IDLE detent
IF EGT reaches 950 or no increase w/in 30 seconds…Engine start lever (affected engine)…confirm…CUTOFF, then IDLE detent.
IF 950 or no EGT again…repeat.

CABIN ALTITUDE WARNING or Rapid Decompression

A

Don oxygen masks and set regulators to 100%
Establish crew communications
Pressurization mode selector……MAN
Outflow VALVE switch…..hold to close until VALVE closed
If cabin altitude is uncontrollable…Passenger signs ON, PASS OXYGEN switch ON
GO TO EMERGENCY DESCENT CHECKLIST

Emergency Descent

A

Announce the emergency descent…CA to crew, FO to ATC & get altimeter setting.
Fasten seatbelt switch ON
Without delay…Descend to higher of MSA or 10,000 feet
Engine start switches (both)…CONT
Thrust levers (both) min or as needed for anti-ice
Speedbrake…..Flight Detent
Set target speed VMO/MMO (with regard to structural integrity)

A

IF ENG OVERHEAT light stays on, go to ENG FIRE, severe damage or separation checklist

A

Parking brake … SET…C
Speedbrale lever…DOWN…C
Flap Lever…40…F/O
Pressurization Mode Selector…MAN…F/O
Outflow VALVE Switch….Hold OPEN…F/O
IF time allows, verify flaps 40 before Engine shutdown…C
Engine Start Levers (both)…CUTOFF…C
Evacuation…Command/Cancel…C
Advise tower…F/O
ENG and APU fire switches (all) …override and pull
If any fire, rotate switch and hold for 1 second
