737 limitations Flashcards
Max tailwind component - takeoff
15 kts
Max tailwind component - landing
15 kts
Max operating altitude
41,000ft
Max takeoff and landing altitude
8,400ft
Minimum takeoff and landing temperature
-54°C
Maximum Operating Limit Speed
Observe Vmo/Mmo and Gear/Flap placards
Severe turbulence penetration speed
280 kts or .76M (whichever is lower)
Do NOT operate air conditioning packs in HIGH with
either or both engine bleed air switches ON for takeoff, approach, or landing.
Engine Anti-Ice must be ON when
icing conditions exist or are anticipated (on the ground or in flight) EXCEPT during climb or cruise below -40°C SAT and prior to and during descent in ALL icing conditions, including below -40°C SAT.
Autopilot must be disengaged below
1000ft AGL on takeoff
Below 50ft AGL on single channel approach
Below 500ft AGL on manually flown HGS AIII (A3) approach
NO AILERON TRIM with
autopilot engaged.
Engine must run for
3 minutes prior to takeoff and 3 minutes before shutdown (at or near idle - taxi thrust OK)
Max time limit for takeoff thrust
5 minutes*
*10 minutes if single engine after takeoff
ENGINE START switches must be in CONT position for
Takeoff
Landing
Anti-ice operation
Hail, sleet, or moderate to heavy rain
ENGINE START switches must be in FLT position for
operation in severe turbulence.
Minimum oil temperature before setting takeoff thrust
MAX only - +31°C, no limit for NG
Reverse thrust in flight is
prohibited
Bleed & Electric (APU load) Max Altitude
10,000ft
Bleed Only (APU load) Max Altitude
17,000ft
Electric Only (APU load) Max Altitude
41,000ft
Max Operating Altitude (APU load) Max Altitude
41,000ft
The APU BLEED AIR switch must be CLOSED for 2 minutes after
start and 1 minute before shutdown (turning the switch off meets this time limit automatically)
Avoid power above idle with the
with the APU bleed valve open.
APU bleed valve must be CLOSED when
another source is pressurizing L bleed air duct.
Max altitude for flap extension
20,000ft
Holding in icing conditions with flaps extended is
prohibited
No speed brakes below
1,000ft AGL
In flight, do NOT extend SPEED BRAKE lever beyond
the FLIGHT DETENT (shouldn’t allow you to anyways)
Do not deploy speed brakes with more than
Flaps 10 extended
Do not manually override the
Load Alleviation System.
Minimum fuel temperature
-37°C (unless actual fuel freeze point is known).
Fuel imbalance must be scheduled to be
zero.
No more than 1,000lbs imbalance for
taxi, takeoff, flight, or landing.
Main tanks must be FULL with more than
1,000lbs in center tank.
On the ground center tank fuel pumps must be OFF with less than
1,000lbs in tank (except for defueling or transferring fuel).
Center tank fuel pumps must be OFF unless
someone is in the flight deck to monitor LOW PRESSURE lights
Center tank fuel pumps must be turned OFF when
low pressure light illuminates (under 1000lbs) or the tank is empty.
Ground operation of electric hydraulic pump requires minimum
1675 in respective fuel tank.
