Explain the difference between “place” and “space”

A

Place: can be understood as the material manifestation of locations, and cultural terrains occupied and reproduced by particular groups that have acquired or been given particular meaning by people. However, definitions of place differ according to the approach applied.

Space: can be understood in terms of freedom of movement and openness and as lacking the type of meaning that generally characterizes place. However, definitions of space differ according to the approach applied.
