All ammunition is rimless; its calibre is 5.56mm, this together with manufacturing information is stamped on the based of each cartridge.

SA80 Ammunition Issuing

A

Ammunition is normally issued in H83 or M2 containers, containing cardboard cartons of 20, 30 or 50 rounds. They are also issued in bandoliers of 150 rounds in 10 round clips. Magazine charges are issued one per Rifle / Carbine as part of the CES.
