11. Weapons Handling Test Flashcards
WHT Load
Check safety, remove magazine from pouch, check rounds are seated correctly and insert into rifle until you hear a click. Close pouch and await further commands
WHT Ready
Check Safety, check sights, cock weapon and wait further commands
WHT Unload
Safety, remove magazine, cock weapon back and apply holding catch, 7 point check, release bolt and fire. Pick up ejected round and place it into another magazine.
WHT Make Safe
Check Safety, remove magazine and place into pouch, cock weapon back and carry out 7 point check. Bolt release catch and fire, put safety back on and check sights and dust cover. Pick up ejected round and place back into a magazine. Place a new magazine into the rifle, checking top rounds are seated correctly and insert into rifle. Then place hand back onto hand guard and await further orders
WHT In prone position
Check safety and tilt weapon left and observe position of cocking handle
WHT Cocking handle appears to be fully forward
Forward assist and continue firing. If the weapon still fails to fire cock weapon and apply holding catch, inspect inside of the weapon
WHT Rounds in the chamber, but no rounds in the magazine clear.
Push magazine up until you hear an audible click. Operate bolt release catch, forward assist, put weapon back on fire and resume firing
WHT Obstruction
Remove the magazine, tilt the weapon to the right and shake until weapon is clear, visually check if clear. Refit magazine, operate bolt release catch, forward assist, put weapon on fire and continue firing
WHT No rounds in the magazine and no rounds in the chamber
Put weapon on safe, remove magazine and place back in pouch, insert new magazine, check if rounds seated correctly and magazine fitted correctly. Close pouch, operate bolt release catch, forward assist. Put safety back on fire and resume firing
