Recognises resources are scarce, evaluates services and benefits, provides information to assist in the allocation of scarce resources.
Health economics offers a systematic and transparent framework for analysing the consequences from alternative choices.
What is economic evaluation?
Comparative analysis of alternative courses of action in terms of both costs and consequences. Should identify, measure, value and compare all relevant costs and consequences.
What are the main types of economic evaluation?
Cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-utility analysis (i.e., health related quality of life), cost-benefit analysis
