Procedure 7 X 3 min episodes 1 Mum and child enter room and play 2 Stranger enters room plays with child 3 caregiver leaves room 4 caregiver returns and stranger leaves 5 stranger leaves 6 stranger returns 7 caregiver returns
Type B = secure attachment
Explores happily but regularly returns to mother moderate levels of stranger and separation anxiety 60-75%
Type A = insecure avoidant
Explores freely with no need of proximity no reaction to separation or reunion no stranger anxiety 20-25%
Type C = insecure resistant
Does not explore and seeks close proximity huge stranger and separation anxiety but rejects comfort on reunion 3%
