How do you approach writing a research article?
There isn’t one approach, but often methods -> results -> introduction -> discussion -> abstract
Title first? Why?
In one sentence, it describes the main finding.
Direction of effect?
If you are testing the effects of a drug, and this drug disrupts secondary metabolism, does that make any sense?
Perhaps some sort of effect of x to y.
When writing a title, what points do you want to hit?
*Main finding
*Direction of effect
*The vagueness
How do you write an abstract?
*First: give a basic introduction of the topic.
*Second in one sentence; clearly stating the general problem
*Third two or three sentences: More detailed background for scientists in the field (summary of introduction)
*Fourth: Brief description of material and methods, two or three sentences
*Fifth: Two or three sentences to write down results.
*Sixth: Broader perspective, like a very small summary of the discussion. Two or three sentences.
