negative attitude towards a group of people that may lead to discrimination
prejudice (affective component)
negative feelings towards members of a group, based solely on their membership of that group
characteristics of majority group that hold the prejudice:
- majority believe they are superior
- majority believe minority is different
- majority believe they are more powerful
- majority group is insecure of the minority
