  • costs a lot of money - many ppl involved

treatment of malaria?

A
  • V LIMITED
  • quinine, chloroquinine, artemisinin = kill parasite + prevent reoccurring - ONLY SOON AFTER INFECTION
  • if travelling to country w endemic malaria - should take anti malarial medicines
  • but these are developing resistance - should use combination to avoid resistance

  1. AVOID CONTACT W MOSQUITOS: nets, insect repellents, full coverage clothing
  2. PREVENT MOSQUITOS BREEDING: remove breeding sites, proper disposal of sewage (foul water = mosquitos will breed in), biological control, chemical control
