6.4 Type II Superconductors Flashcards
1
Q
In which materials do we often see T2 superconductors?
A
Alloys
2
Q
How are T2 superconductors different to T1?
A
T1: Fairly low critical field and temp
T2: can have higher values
3
Q
Describe what happens at B_c1
A
Fine filaments (vorticies) of the material become normal, and there is a cylinder of magnetic flux centered on each filament
4
Q
What happens as the B field is increased above B_c1?
A
More filaments are produced, but superconductivity is still observed as there is still a path through the material with no resistance
5
Q
Describe what happens at B_c2
A
The material is entirely normal now and resistance returns
