The active aspect of leisure
- Leisure time is free which can be spent actively or passively.
Name the key characteristics of physical recreation?
- It is fun, enjoyable, non-serious, informal in nature so winning is not important, about taking part
- Physically energetic I.e involves effort
- Participating is a matter of ‘choice’ (voluntary)
- Flexible in nature
- It’s self-officiated/self-regulated
- Tends to involve adults at the participation level of the sporting development continuum
