- increased respirations
- periods of unconsciousness
how much blood loss can cause shock?
1-2 quarts
when is it okay to move a patient in shock or hemorrhaging?
if they are vomiting
what position should they be put in?
on their side
what are 5 possible signs of internal bleeding?
- may vomit blood
- cough up blood
- have blood in the urine/stool
- may complain of pain
- lose consciousness/ go into shock
what do you do in the event of external bleeding besides stay a calm and reassure the patient?
- Place a clean cloth over the bleeding wound.
- Put pressure on the wound with the palm of your hand until the bleeding stops
- If possible, elevate the wound over the heart
