Jazz

A

Jazz uses improvisation as a primary structural component.

Most enduring jazz is not notated in the Western music traditional sense, although some types of jazz are, of following specific notes on the music score (left music sheet below), pitches, rhythms, dynamics, and other instructions written on music manuscript paper), but rather by reading chord charts or lead sheets (right music sheet below) (Music symbols such as Cm7 and Eb9, to name a couple written in a specific order on music manuscript paper). Improvised sections performed by a soloist follows this same chord chart.
Jazz incorporates elements of folk music.
