Why command is needed:
Fix responsibility on specific individual based on arrival sequence
Ensure strong, direct, visible command

What are divisions, groups, sector supervisor?
Division: is a location (a-side, floor 3)
Group: is a function (salvage, vent)
Sector: is an area (north sector) commonly used in water
What is the operations section chief?
BC moving forward at large incidents to command an area (fire attack floor, exposure floor)
What is the safety officer?
Tasked with scene safety, establishing rehab, scene risk analysis, ensuring use of accountability system, ensuring use of proper PPE, establish RIT
Respond to:
Working fires, multiple alarms, tech rescue, marine rescue, MCI, hazmat
What is the PIO?
Communicates with the press and public
What is the liaison officer?
Is established when coordination is needed between the SFD and another agency, service, institution, or family
