What are communicable diseases?
Caused by pathogens and are passed from person to person(e.g tuberculosis, flu, chicken pox, cold)
What are non-communicable diseases?
Cannot be passed from one person to another (e.g heart disease, cancer, diabetes and arthritis)
What is health?
A state of physical and mental well-being
What factors affect our health?
-diet
-stress
-life situations
How does your diet affect your health?
-if you don’t eat enough or the right nutrients
-suffer from starvation to anaemia
-if you eat too much
-suffer from obesity, cancer or type 2 diabetes
How does stress affect our health?
-too much stress increases chance of developing wide range of health problems
-eg. heart disease, cancer and mental health
How does life situations affect your health?
-provokes stress
-leads to communicable diseases
-and non-communicable diseases

What do viruses do?

What does the immune system do?
-Destroy pathogens
