What is Climate Change Levy?
Tax on non domestic users in the UK. Incentive to increase energy efficiency.
Energy generated from renewable sources are expempt from CCL.
What is BNG and how is it measured?
Biodiversity Net Gain - A way of creating and improving natural habitats to deliver positive impact through biodiversity in development.
From Feb 2024, compulsory for new developments to provide at leaset 10% BNG for at least 30 years - through on or off site measures.
What is BREEAM?
Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment method.
Voluntary environmental assessment tool rating for newly built or refurbished properties.
Five ratings:
1. Pass
2. Good
3. Very Good
4. Excellent
5. Outstanding
