A
- ‘Special architectural or historical interest’
- Historical association (associated with nationally important people or events)
- Group Value (part of a bigger ensemble of buildings ie. squares / terraces / villages)

- Grade I - Buildings of exceptional interest
- Grade II* - Important buildings of more than special interest
- Grade II - Building of special interest

What is the sentence for breaking listed building legislation?
A
- Criminal offence - to carry out work to listed buildings without approval
- £20k fine
- 2 years in prison

A
- Application of immunity to listed
- Lasts for 5 years
- Good to consider if building is in a conservation area and may be subject to listing
