Anticonvulsant
drugs used to prevent or reduce seizures

Benzodiazepines
drugs that are anxiety-reducing, hypnotic, sedative, and anticonvulsants
Barbituate
drugs that depresses the central nervous system reducing all vital signs, causing sedation or sleep. used to treat seizures, induce sleep, and sedate
Tranquilizer
drugs that reduce anxiety, agitation, fear, tension and disturbances of the mind or bring about sleep
Opiates/opioids
these are controlled substances that contain opium. Used to reduce pain.
beta blockers
drugs that manage abnormal heart rhythms, slow the heart rate and force of contraction, reduce blood pressure
Diuretics
drugs that promote the formation and excretion of bring, “fluid pills” reduce edema or swelling and reduce high blood pressure
Antianxiety drugs
drugs used to treat or reduce anxiety, or agitation
antipsychotics
drugs used to treat mood disorders or depression
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS)
drugs used to reduce pain, fever, and inflammation (swelling) some are also used to prevent blood clotting
antidysrhythmics/antiarrhythmics
drugs used to prevent or correct abnormal heart rhythms
antianginals
drugs used to treat angina or heart pain
carditonic drugs
drugs that improve the action of the heart
analgesics
drugs that relieve pain
