Process where increases in real per capita output and incomes are accompanied by improvements in standards of living and poverty

Measures 3 dimensions:

What is a good HDI vs bad and how is ti measured
Values expressed between 0 and 1
The closer to 1 the better
Relationship between economic growth and economic development
Economy not experiencing growth can still achieve some economic development by reallocating resources, cutting back production and increasing merit goofs
Economic growth does NOT guarantee that economic development will occur - e.x little merit good provision, unsustainable production methods etc
