Active assailant incidents are often over before law enforcement arrives on scene, usually within
10 - 15 minutes
A location where fire-rescue personnel can receive patients from law enforcement personnel
Casualty Collection Point ( CCP )
Common term used to describe crowd control or riot gas agents used by military or law enforcement.
Chemical Agent/ Chemical munitions
A rapidly assembled team of law enforcement officers responsible for location and stopping an active assailant.
Contact Team
A device placed or fabricated in an improvised manner incorporating destructive, lethal, noxious, to destroy etc.
Improvised Explosive Device ( IED )
A team consisting of law enforcement officers responsible for moving victims from dangerous areas to the CCP
Rescue Team
The threat has been mitigated and / or law enforcement personnel have established a perimeter to provide security to JFRD personnel.
Scene Security
A law enforcement unit or team responsible for specialized tactics at high-risk incidents.
Special Weapons and Tactics Team ( SWAT )
An application of ICS used when there is more than one agency with incident jurisdiction or when incidents cross political jurisdictions.
Unified Command
A vehicle, large or small, that is used to conceal, carry or delver an IED.
Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device ( VBIED )
