What are the humans uses for the coastline?
Tourism, transport, residential transport, harbours, conservation, housing.
What coastal managements do humans have?
Groynes, sea wall, rock armour, beach nourishment, slope stabilisation, dredging.
What is happening at Swanage bay?
Groynes are stopping the beach from moving along the coast from longshore drift so one end has near to no sand on it.
What is hard engineering?
Humans using man-made objects to go against and stopping the natural process of the coast.
What is soft engineering?
Humans using methods that are cheap and go along with natures desires with things going on with the coast line.
What can industry do to the coastline?
It can cause humans to make things that help them with their industry like with the tourist industry, they might place groynes to keep the beaches there or replenish the beach with more sand once a year.
