4.3 : quantities in reactions Flashcards
1
Q
what is titration?
A
titration is the process of determining the volume if an unknown solution through by adding the a volume of a chemical with known concentration.
2
Q
describe the rinsing process involved with titration.
A
the pipette is rinsed with distilled water, and then swirled from side to side and then its contents is emptied. This process is then repeated with the solution of known concentration (titrant).
the volumetric flask is rinsed with distilled water and then swirled from side to side and then it’s contents are emptied.
