1. How do i deal with (short term) fluctuations in demand in takted work systems?
2. How can seasonality be represented?
3. How do i deal with different sickness rates?
4. What can be done if customer demand changes in the long run?

Answer 1

1. dont change speed of line everytime there is change in demand -> you DO change the gross or net working time (e.g. demand + 10% = increasing working time +10%)
2. going in stock production before; change gross working time
3. rented labor; need to make sure every spot is covered; otherwise go for U-cell system
4. need to re-calculate TAKT time

Yes!

Centralized = central authority like production manager makes decisions about what to produced.
Decentralized= Decisions made more locally, often at the level of individual workstations, production lines or teams. Allo each part of production to act more independently.
