4.2 Physical And Human Processes Flashcards
Compare weathering in the uplands and the lowlands .
Weathering in the uplands was mainly done by the glaciers as they erode all th valleys and kept growing and growing as it went from north to south . However , weathering in the lowlands as done by glacial melt water .
Compare soil and rock movements between the uplands an lowlands .
In the uplands there are more rockslides and soil erosions . In the lowlands there is more rotational slumping
Compare misfit rivers and dry valleys
Misfit rivers are found at the bottom of valleys and are the results of glaciers melting . Dry valleys from on permeable rock , which are formed when melting water
How have glaciers affected our landscape.
Glaciers have affected out landscape by :
. Making v and u shaped valleys
. By eroding and expanding valleys .
. By eroding the antcline in the lowland and creating a weald
2 ways humans have affected the uplands
We have let sheep graze on the lake district meaning no tress can prevent and prolong floods .
We also have made a manmade forest and sold the wood from it
We have also built dry walls that cut off the land and divide it for the sheep of the lake district .
2 ways the humans have effected the lowlands
We have uilt many towns and cities preventing growth of frests ect.
We have also built farms and sold the wood of the land that was originally there .
We also make artificial rivers that feed of natural rivers called …
