Data Protection Outside of the UK
Personal data should not be transferred outside of the UK, unless the country receiving the data has similar laws that match the DPA/GDPR
GDPR - general data protection regulation
United Nations Convention on the Rights of Person with disabilities (UNCPRD)
what is it
this is a UN human right that states that disabled people should be able to ‘access information systems
&
that access to information, communication and services, including internet is a human right
what are the type of methods that can be done to comply with the UNCPRD
- screen reader
- < alt > tag on images
- accessiblity settings such as allowing the type of font to be change or increasing the font size, so that it can be read easily. Fonts such as sans serif are more easier to be read than fonts like script.
- subtitles/captions for users with hearing disabilities
- browser/extensions or browser settings: to change colours used on a website to help users with colour blindness.

a software program that allows blind and low vision individuals to read the content on a computer screen with a voice synthesizer or braille display

a text to speech software that describe the image aloud for the visually impaired
<alt> tag can be added on the HTML code of an image on a website and will be audibly spoken by specialist reading software

- accessiblity settings
websites giving the option to allow users to change the font size or the type of font, to make text easier to read / or giving the option to make them being able to listen to if a user is unable to read them
