Data protection outside of the UK
Personal data should not be transferred outside of the UK unless:
The country receiving the data has adequate data protection laws that match the GDPR or Data Protection Act 2018
The GDPR was introduced into EU regions allowing for data to be transferred from region to region but some regions only have “Partially adequate data protections laws” whilst many have no laws
EU-US Privacy Shield
“Personal data can be sent between European countries and the United States due to a protection scheme knows as the “Safe harbour” and “EU-US Privacy Shield”

Why was this scheme stopped?
The European court of justice argued that it did not:
“adequately protect the personal data of Europeans from government access”
What does the UNCRPD state?
(United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities)
That “Disabled people should be able to access information systems and use digital means to expenses their opinions”

What methods could be used to comply with this policy (UNCRPD)
Using <alt> text on images</alt>
Allows for text to speech software to describe the image aloud for the virtually impaired
Accessibility settings
Websites could allow users to change the font size, background colour, style so text is easier to read or audibly spoken
