what are the levels of a disaster
level 1= small natural disasters, i.e car crashes or house fires.
level 2= larger casualties with regional response agencies, i.e. train derailments, building collapses and tornadoes.
level 3= use the most resources - local, state, and federal, i.e. mass casualty, earthquakes, tsunamis and hurricanes.
what is the goal of disaster management?

how are patients categorized in a mass casualty event?
black= deceased or beyond medical assistance
red= immediate are injured persons who need to be seen immediately or within 1 hr.
yellow= delayed, injured persons who are medically stable but still need to be seen after the more injured persons are cared for first
Green= minor, these persons will not need to be seen for at least several hours and are most stable.
how can people be prepared for emergencies
a family preparedness kit should include enough supplies for each family member to last a minimum of 3 days and the kit should be checked every 6 mo to replace expired items. all members should know about the evacuation plan.
how may bio terrorism present?
