400 questions good luck Flashcards
how many gallons of HYD fluid in A vs B
A = 4.7 us gallons B = 7.2 us gallons
if there is a leak in the engine driven A pump how much fluid will be left?
what about the electric?
22% left for the electric driven pump
outta luck butter cup nothing left
if the #1 engine RPM fails below 56%, gear is not up and commanded up, what happens
the LGTU operates from the b system to raise the gear
if a leak occurs in the B system engine HYD pump what happens?
what about the electric pump?
the fluid will drain to the top of the engine driven HYD pump stand pipe leaving about 40%
it leaks to the top of the electric pump standpipe which is about empty but enough fluid is left over for the PTU
if the standby HYD system has a leak how much will the B reseivor decrease to?
64%
if either flight control switch is not in the STBY RUD position and the ALT Flaps switch is not in the arm position, the stand by system will do what?
the standby system will auto shut off when the flaps are retracted in flight
with the Loss of A and B HYD what flight controls are powered and how?
Ailerons and elevators thru manual reversion and the rudder is via the standby system
how many flight spoilers do we have? what HYD system power which ones?
4 // the inboard flight spoilers via the A system and the outboard via the B system
how many ground spoilers are there?
3
if the B system is completly inop what provides pressure to the leading edge devices?
the stand by system
are the rudder pressure reducer (RDR) and the rudder pressure limiter (RDL) the same thing ?
yes, the RDR is on the a system and RDL is on the B system
both limit the hydraulic pressure to the rudder when full rudder is not required
when is rudder pressure reduced?
it is reduced at 1000agl and remains reduced until descending below 700ft agl
it also makes the ailerons and flight spoilers more effective in the event that the more counter active force is needed
when will the rudder pressure return to normal
loss of system B
a difference in N1 between the thrust levers that exceeds more than 45%
if the RPR fails to come back on descending trough 700RA what happens?
the FLT control low pressure limit is illuminated and the standby sytem will activate, open standby rudder valve power the standby PCU
a runaway trim can be caused by?
uncommanded operation of the main electric trim
uncommanded operation of the autopilot trim system
or a failure of the brake portions of the main and autopilot trim systems, which allow stabillizer float
what do you do if you have runaway stabilizer float?
it may be neccessary to not do opposite control forces as it may make the situation worse
trim will stop the uncontrolled motion of the stabilizer
this is one situation where grabbing the stabilizer trim wheel would be neccessary as far as i can find
the lower cargo compartment must have operating smoke detection and fire suppresion with 3 exceptions.. what are these exceptions
empty cargo handling equipment, ballast and or fly away kits
how many smoke detectors in the forward cargo compartment? how many in the aft?
4 in the forward // 6 in the aft // each unit has a dual loop configuration a and b
if one fire detection loop fails what happens?
it goes into single loop mode automatically
how many agent bottles do we have for the lower cargo? what about in 311?
1 // 2
what must you do while doing the cargo fire procedure?
proceed to nearest suitable airport
how many circuit breakers are there for the lower cargo suppresion and detection system?
3 // p6-2 panel /
how is lower cargo compartment smoke detection powered? what about lower cargo suppresion?
DC bus 1 and 2 /// hot battery bus
when will a detection fault light illuminate during a cargo fire test?
when one or more of the detectors in the selected loops have failed
how many smoke detectors in the main deck cargo
12 detectors
what lights will illuminate with a main deck cargo fire?
MAIN CARGO SMOKE (lower right or left) and the associated smoke detector will illuminate.. THERE IS NO MASTER CAUTION OR MASTER FIRE WARNING OR FIRE BELL
if you have a main deck fire what are some of the steps the QRH would direct you to do?
Move the CABIN AIR SHUTOFF switch to closed.
- this action uses two valves, powered by the number 2 DC main bus, to close off ECS air supplied from the mix manifold
there is no fire suppresion / fighting ability except for reducing the amount of oxygen to the fire
why does the QRH direct the flight crew to descend to (and reise the cabin alitutde) FL250 during a main deck cargo fire?
maintaining 250 as long as practable minimizes oxygen available to the fire while accomidating flight crew physiological limits for extended flight on supplementary oxygen
what is the MAIN DECK CARGO COMPARTMENT SMOKE DETECTOR SYSTEM test?
1: main deck cargo compartmennt smoke detector panel
- press to test switch: press and hold
- verify 12 smoke detector lights are on
- verify both MAIN CARGO SMOKE (red) lights - on
NOTE: the MAIN CARGO SMOKE red lights are located on each pilots lower instrument panel
MAIN CARGO COMPARTMENT AIR SUPPLY SHUTOFF test?
Cabin air shutoff control panel
1: cabin air shutoff switch guard = move up
2: cabin air shutoff control swtich = closed
- verify cabin air shutoff closed indicator (amber) light = on
3: cabin air shutoff control switch = open
4: cabin air shutoff switch guard = move down
- verify cabin air shutoff indicator (amber) light = off
