- Basic Processes Level

Define “Psychology”
The study of human behaviours, feelings and thoughts
Define “Behaviour”
An outward observable action.
What does the Biological Level represent?
The chemical processes that occur within the human body. These may involve, perspiration, increase in heart rate, increase in blood pressure, pupil dilation, secretion of adrenaline, etc…
What does the Basic Processes Level represent?
The psychological processes common to the majority of people such as, memory, cognition, emotions and learning.
What does the Person Level represent?
The individual differences that influence behaviour. This may involve, personality, mood, motivation, age, intelligence, gender, etc…
What does the Socio-Cultural Level represent?
How others/society influence the behaviours of individuals. This may involve, Religion, peer-groups, family, stereotypes, etc…
What does the 4 Levels of Explanation mean?
The 4 levels (ways) of explaining and understanding behaviour.
