4. General Considerations Flashcards
What is reliability?
Ability of a system to function properly under defined or known conditions of use
Primary systems
If one of the primary systems fails, the failure may endanger the safety of the aircraft
Eg. Flight controls
Secondary system
Failure will degrade the performance of the aircraft and will induce the pilot to abort mission. It will not put the safety of the aircraft at risk
Eg. Air conditioning
Auxiliary systems
Failure can degrade the mission or cause discomfort but will not force the mission to be aborted
Eg. Passenger entertainment system
Name the three energy transformation, distribution and generation systems
- Hydraulic
- Pneumatic
- Electrical
Name four particular function systems
- Fuel systems
- Landing gear
- Air conditioning
- Emergency systems
What are design constrains
Relations to other systems or structure or propulsion of the aircraft
