What is Deviant?
A
- Behaviours, emotions and thoughts which are different from social or cultural norms.

What is Distress?
A
- Negative behaviours and feelings which cause distress to the individuals or other around us.

What is Dysfunctional?
A
Behaviours and Feelings are dysfunctional when they interfere with person’s ability to function daily life e.g. hold a job

What is Danger?
A
- Behaviours and feelings that are potentially harmful to an individual or the individuals around them are seen as abnormal

What are some examples of dysfunctional behaviours?
A
- not being able to go to work
- struggling to get out of bed
- cannot get dressed.

- threatening to take their own lives
- messing around with knives
