Q

How does an ATM work?

A

The customer enters their cash card in, it checks to ensure that the card hasn’t been reported lost or stolen. It reads the sort code and account number on the magnetic strip on the card. The ATM will then request the customers bank record from the main database across communication links and check that the PIN they enter is correct.

21
Q

What are the advantages to the trainee in CBT?

A

Multimedia can help give more detailed explanations. Interactive quizzes can allow interaction with the software. Targets can easily be set and monitored online.

22
Q

What are the disadvantages to the trainee in CBT?

A

Self motivation is needed due to potential lack of a tutor. Also lack of tutor means they can’t ask them if they get stuck. The trainee may find the learning method monotonous eventually.

23
Q

What are the advantages to the tutor in CBT?

A

Doesn’t need to plan learning material, saves time. Assignments may be marked automatically. Can easily identify students who aren’t progressing quickly.

24
Q

What are the disadvantages to the tutor in CBT?

A

Has to rely on materials that somebody else has prepared and trust they are adequate. Has to support trainees at different stages, so had to have lots of topics fresh in their mind. Needs to be available at all times.
