4 9-1-1 Management Flashcards
What are the two processes for PSAP budgeting?
Operational and Capital
Capital Budgeting
This budget process deals with long-term major purchases formulated on a longer term, such as a five-year basis. Most equipment-related items (9-1-1 equipment, telephone systems, CAD systems, radio systems, and consoles) fall within this budget.
Operational Budget
This budget process is annual and considers the costs incurred during the upcoming year (fiscal or annual). Spans a 12-month period and covers costs for personnel, utilities, office supplies, rent/leases, and system maintenance.
What should be taken into consideration when assigning tasks?
Unique skills possessed by the person, the person’s willingness to do the task, the salary, the regular work schedule of the person, and the availability of finding a substitute to fill-in for the assigned person’s regular duties.
What is a project manager’s function in complex building or telecommunications projects?
A project manager ensures the vendor follows the contract specifications to deliver the required goods or services and alerts agency managers to potential problems so appropriate action can be taken to mitigate the situation.
A competitive procurement process is typically referred to as:
Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), and Request for Quote (RFQ)
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
An employee benefit program that helps employees with personal and/or work-related challenges that may impact their job performance, health, mental, or emotional well-being.
