Benjamin Franklin’s plan to propose a untied government for the colonies, however, no one approved
French and Indian War(seven years war)
British won this war, and they gained a lot of territory. Allowed them to gain mauch fur trading profits 1754-1763

Patrick Henry
A member of the Virginia house of Burgesses- persuaded people to stop the stamp act
Samuel Adams
Started the organization - The Sons of Liberty to protest the stamp act. People followed and started organzing more Sons of Liberty Groups.
Sugar Act
Lowered the tax on imported molasses and British hoped that this would make the colonists pay instead of smuggling. Also let officers come in anywhere to check for smuggled goods.
Proclamation of 1763
Prevented colonists from moving west toward the Appalachian mountains. Gave Britain many advantages.
Stamp Act
Placed a tax on almost all printed material, and this angered the colonists greatly. All printed material had to have a stamp, and the British applied the stamp after the tax was paid.
Declaratory Act
This law stated that the British had all the rights to pose taxes under any of the British colonies
Townshend acts
These acts only posed taxes on imported goods such as glass, tea, paper, etc. The colonists organized another boycott.
Propaganda
An exaggeration of something
Boston Massacre
Redcoats killed five colonists aftercolonists started throwing sticks at them, propaganda was used to make it seem big, and it was called a massacre.
