What is a benign tumour? (4)
A
- Slow growing
- They are surrounded by a capsule and remain compact so don’t metastasise
- Less likely to be life threatening but can disrupt vital function of an organ
- Cell nucleus has a normal appearance

- Grow rapidly
- Not surrounded by a capsule and can grow projections into tissues so do metastasise
- More likely to be life threatening as abnormal tissues replaces regular tissue
- Cell nucleus larger and darker
