blood pressure
the pressure arising in the arteries when the blood is pumped round.
alcohol poisoning
poisoning caused by drinking too much alcohol.
binge drinking
drinking a lot of alcohol in a short period, which means that the alcohol content in het blood increases rapidly to 0.8%.. or higher.
arteriosclerosis
narrowing of blood vessels due to accumulation of plaque.
cardiovascular disease
the collective name for diseases of the heart and blood vessels.
heart attack
blockage of a coronary artery so that part of the hearth muscle is no longer being supplied with oxygen and nutrients.
hangover
headache, thirst and/or nausea caused by loss of fluids and by the toxic substances produced by the breakdown of alcohol.
