35 oxygen cabin system Flashcards
what are the three independent cabin o2 systems
- fixed system
- fire extinguishing system protable (protective breathing equipment)
- portable first aid
how can cabin system be activated?
- OSCU gets cabin altitude from AFDX network when cabin alt above 14,000 ft
- pressure switch detects high cabin altitude (14000)
- manual on switch on cockpit overhead panel
what happens when the system is activated?
- shut of device of each regulator is turned off -> oxygen flows
- oxygen mask containers opened pneumatically via bleed air valves pressing air into containers
-oxygen flows into a mask when lanyard is pulled and manifold is activated
how many oxygen pressure regulators are there? what is their job?
2 -. regulate flow in accordance with cabin altitude
what is a380 oxygen source
high pressure oxygen bottles
where is the oxygen pressure indicated of the cylinders?
- fill panel (calculated via OSCU)
- door/oxy page on ecam
- pressure guage
where are the thermo compensators installed? (same as crew)
upstream of cylinder in fill line
after pressure reducer/transmitter
what are the main functions of the OSCU?
- activate passenger system
- pressure calculations (which?)
- monitor valves
- store system related indications
- BITE
- monitor of temp in avionics for discharge valves
what are the components of the fixed passenger oxygen system
high pressure oxygen bottles
- two pressure regulators which control pressure based on altitude
- two supply lines with shut off valves (distrbution system)
what does the QCCU do?
the quality calculation control unit monitors the oxygen pressure
- controls fil panel indication
- control signal of pressure reducers and temp transducers
