A
A diocese is a geographical area that holds multiple churches. There are smaller areas called parishes in a diocese.

Why does the local church support families?
A
- God’s love can be expressed in the way that humans care for each other
- We have a duty as stewards to look after each other
- To make it easier for new families to still be involved with the church
- To encourage newcomers
- It is important for children to learn about the faith from young
- Builds a sense of community and strengthens the church

An important event that marks a crucial stage in someone’s life, e.g. birth, marriage, death.
