3.4 Flashcards
Photosynthesis
Plants convert sunlight from the sun, water, and carbon dioxide into food and energy; how it enters the carbon cycle
Nitrogen Fixation
When nitrogen from the atmosphere is converted to ammonia from the bacteria; how it enters the nitrogen cycle
Cellular Respiration
Cells convert glucose and oxygfen into energy, carbon dioxide, and water; how it leaves the carbon cycle and goes back up into the atmosphere
Denitrification
When bacteria converts the nitrates that are found in the soil into nitrogen gas; how it leaves the nitrogen cycle and goes back to the atmosphere
A pathway of processes that would occur in during the carbon cycle
Plants absorb Carbon Dioxide, then the animals eat the plants and release Carbon Dioxide back to the atmosphere
Pathway of proccesses that would occur during the nitrogen cycle
Nitrogen fixation occurs, then plants absorb it, then returns back to the atmosphere via. denitrification
