Q
Characteristics of animals
A
Multicellular eukaryotes, heterotrophic, uses aerobic cellular respiration, most are motile (moves), most complex of all organisms
2
Q
Features to classify animals
A
- Presence of nervous system
- Type of symmetry (radial = symmetry around a central axis, OR bilateral = symmetry around a midline)
- Protostome (mouth develops first) vs. deuterostome (anus develops first)
- Number of germ layers (layers of cells) in developing embryo
- Presence of coelom (body cavity)
