Station that takes place during the early years of childhood with immediate family

E.g. Schools, peer groups

- The act of learning to conform to culturally defined gender roles through socialisation

- how Peoples thoughts feelings appearance and behaviour is regulated in social systems

An alteration in the social order of a society

A type of social inequality where society is divided into different levels based on a social characteristics like wealth or status

- a way of viewing socialisation, emphasising the roles people have in shaping society

what is the interactionist apporach
- looks at how individuals can help create and change society
- society still controls the individual but allows for creativity
- sports clubs are seen as a result of people’s interaction
- sport is changed to match the perspective of those playing them
- makes sports organisations more democratic and less hierarchal
