What is the Blake mouton grid? Explain each of the managements.

A

A Blake Mouton grid helps show the concern for people and production when it comes to the production process.

Impoverished Leader : low concern for people and task making it the worst type of management resulting in poor quality goods

Country Club : high concern for people which motivates the workforce but doesn’t necessarily increase the quality of the goods

Produce or Perish : authoritarian type of management where concern for production is highest and employees are disregarded in turn reducing motivation.

Team Leader : high concern for people and production making it the most efficient type of management as workers are motivated and production is high.

Middle of the road : average concern for people & production leading to mediocre results of goods & services

What are the 4 different leadership types?

A

Autocratic : authoritarian type of leadership where the leader makes all the decisions disregarding any employees

Paternalistic : softer form of autocratic where the leader makes a decision and persuades employees that the decision is made for them

Democratic : leader encourages workforce to contribute to the decision making leading to increased motivation. involves delegation

Laissez-Faire : hands off type leadership where workforce make decisions and the leader will only ever help to support or coach.

What is stakeholder mapping?

A

Stakeholder mapping refers to mapping out the key stakeholders of a business in terms of the interest and power. Stakeholders with high power & interest have to be managed closely
Stakeholders with high power but no interest have to be kept satisfied
Stakeholders with low power but high interest have to be kept informed
Stakeholders with low power and low interest only need to be monitored.
