3.2 Flashcards
What are the first 4 trophic levels
Producer, Primary Consumer, Secondary Consumer, Tertiary Consumer
What is a heterotroph
An organism that uses other animals for energy
What is an autotroph
An organism that makes it’s own energy, usally the producer
Herbivore
Heterotroph that uses autotrophs for energy
Omnivore
Heterotrphs that use both autotrophs and other heterotrophs for energy.
Carnivore
Heterotrophs that use other heterotrophs for energy.
Detritivore
Gain energy by using dead carasses and decomposing them
10% Rule
Each trophic level of the pyramid of energy decreases energy amounts by 10%
What is more efficent for energy: Lower trophic levels or high trophic levels? Why?
Lower because they tend to have way more energy because of the 10% rule
