The media of the vena cava only contains a few smooth muscle cells compared to that of the aorta.
The vena cava contains bundles of smooth muscle cells in the adventitia.
How can you tell the difference between a vein and artery in a slide?
An artery has the thicker wall, more muscle in media, less likely to have irregular contour and less likely to have residual blood in lumen.
Why are valves essential in lymphatics?
They have no muscular ability.
How many smooth muscle layers are in arterioles? Venules?

What is the purpose of an areolar spread?
To identify a three dimensional view of small arterioles and venules and capillary beds.
