Q

What are the three facets of sanctification? Explain each.

A
  1. Positional holiness – when we are declared to be holy at the outset of our Christian lives – justification – occurs instantaneously
  2. Actual holiness – God begins with us where we are. Actual holiness is the part of holiness that doesn’t happen instantaneously.
  3. Progressive sanctification - the Holy Spirit enables us by purifying our souls in obedience to the truth – although we never come to a place of not sinning, we give space to the indwelling Holy Spirit for the solution.
